What We Do…
St. John’s Soup Kitchen provides meals to the downtrodden, the underemployed, the unemployed, the homeless and their families. For over 40 years we have cared for those who have been without food or clothing. There are no questions asked and no conditions to be met, you simply have to come to the soup kitchen to grab a hot meal. In 2018 St. John’s prepared and served over 500 meals everyday. This monumental task can only be accomplished when we all come together to accomplish the goal of eliminating hunger in Newark. We are always amazed at the lengths our supporters will go to in order to support us and that is because they recognize the importance of our mission. At it’s core, our mission is to feed the hungry, but over the years we have added more services to better assist those who visit our doors:
